An analysis on using historical novels to teach of the social studies, and the Republic of Turkey revolution history and Kemalism

In this study, Social Studies, and the Republic of Turkey Revolution History and Kemalism courses in Located transmission of history topics, heritage transmission and values have been studied by replacing the novel history of teaching points and what it's significance is. Bozkurtların Ölümü, Bozkurtlar Diriliyor, and Ak Topraklar which has subjects that are parallel to the historical information in the "Türklerin Anayurdu Orta Asya", "Türkler İslamiyetle Tanışıyor" and "Yeni Yurt Anadolu" of the "Tarihe Yolculuk" unit of the 6th Grade Social Studies course regarding the problem situation of the research. The novels titled Deli Kurt which contains a subject that parallels "Bir Devlet Doğuyor" and "Osmanlı Fetih Siyaseti" in the "Türk Tarihinde Yolculuk" unit in the 7th Grade Social Studies textbook, were examined. Ateşten Gömlek and Vurun Kahpeye novels were studied which are parallelled with "Ermeni Sorunu", "I.Dünya Savaşının Sonu", "İşgal Yıllarında Anadolu", "Cemiyetler ve Kuva-i Milliye", "İstiklal Yolculuğu", "Batı Cephesi" and "Direnişten Dirilişe Sakaryadan Büyük Taarruza" subjects Located in the Research History of the Republic of Turkey and Atatürk course "Milli Uyanış:Bağımsızlık Yolunda Atılan Adımlar" and "Milli Bir Destan:Ya İstiklal Ya Ölüm!". In the decision of the selected books in the study, criteria such as the novels that are in the closest parallel with the course subjects, the first examples written in their genres and the number of prints that can express the rate of meeting with the reader were taken into consideration. The study was organized according to the scanning method, one of the qualitative research methods, and the data obtained by collecting the data through document analysis were evaluated with the content analysis technique. While the novels of Bozkurtların Ölümü, Bozkurtlar Diriliyor, Ak Topraklar and Deli Kurt were interpreted as findings related to the place and importance of historical subjects in the transfer of cultural heritage and value teaching, the novels Ateşten Gömlek and Vurun Kahpeye were analyzed with the title of findings related to the place and importance of historical subjects. As a result of the findings reached and analyzed in the study, it has been determined that it has transmissions showing an intense parallel with the historical information given about the I. and II. Root Turkish states In the "Türklerin Ana Yurdu Orta Asya" of the novels Bozkurtların Ölümü and The Bozkurtlar Diriliyor. Along with this, rich findings were found to convey the general historical information on the "Türklerin Anayurdu Orta Asya". It has been determined that the novel Ak Topraklar in the research shows a rich compatibility with the historical information in the subjects titled "Yeni Yurt Anadolu" and "Türkler İslamiyetle Tanışıyor". It has been determined that the subjects of "Bir Devlet doğuyor" and "Osmanlı Fetih Siyaseti" in the 7th grade Social Studies course are in a serious harmony with the plots of the novel Deli Kurt. Located in the Research History of the Republic of Turkey and Atatürk course "National Awakening: Steps Taken Towards Independence" and "A National Epic: Freedom or Death!" It has been determined that there is a rich depiction and expression in the novels Ateşten Gömlek and Vurun Kahpeye, whose place was examined at the point of teaching the subjects included in the units. It has been determined that the cultural heritage transfer and value teaching objectives, which are intended to be given in the Social Studies course and which are included in the units and subjects mentioned above, are also met with rich examples in the determined works. As a result of research carried out, in the Social Studies 6., 7. and 8. Classes, presentation of history course in the History of Turkish Revolution and Kemalism course, expression of targeted cultural heritage, transfer and value for support in the transfer of education to serve as an example to the identification of appropriate historical novel. It has been reached an assessment and also it was concluded that it has an important place in the use of the lessons as literary material.
