Abstract (EN)

In this master thesis, the concept of God in historical Turkish texts will be examined. Before this study, religions, beliefs will be given about the religious history of Turks will be mentioned. In the light of this information, it will be realized in a more conscious way which Turkish words are used in which period. After giving information about the religions they interact with, the words they use will be divided into four groups and will be examined under these four headings respectively. Karahanli, Khwarezm, Kipchak, Chagatai and Old Anatolian Turkish, starting from the Orkhun period, will be used as the first examples of the words used by Turks to express God in important works of these periods. Then, the necessary explanations will be made with the help of the necessary dictionaries and the etymologies of the Turkish words will be given and their morphology will be done. Phonological changes occurring in periodic words will be shown in tabular form. The words which are in Turkish will be given in Esma-i hüsna. With this study, the students will have an idea about the religious perception of the religion and the idea of God, their successes on the words will be seen. These achievements will be seen in the words they use for God in Quran Translations. Key Words: God, God Concept, Religion, Esma-i Hüsna
