Turkish language reached today undergoing changes in terms of sound, shape and structure of the sentence under influences of various language and non-language in its historical development. Sound systems are the easiest and most changing structures in languages. Also sound system of Turkish language has undergone many changes throughout its history. In this process, The presence of the vowel of the Turkish language , especially with the removal of long vowels from use in over time , successively, while the presence of consonant else got poorer reached today for language reasons especially in a line thet thrives for other reasons in the language. This enrichment, sometimes it emerges while the use of basic phonemes alofons also sometimes that occur with encountered a new language, new culture and civilization from the enviroment through the use of new consonant sounds. In our thesis work examined , in general , collected under the title of historical Turkish dialects; Göktürkçe, Ancient Uygur Turkish, Karahanlı Turkish, Harezm Turkish, Kipchak Turkish, Chagatai Turkish, Ancient Oguzh Turkish period and the changes and developments in the consonant Our work has two main sections, the First Section ( Introduction ) and Second Section ( Sound Mutations in Consonants in the Historical Turkish Dialects ) and consists of the Conclusion and Bibliography. The First Section ( Introduction ), first, informations are given about Historical Turkish Dialects. Then sound concept and especially consonant sound concept were given with all details. In this context the consonants have been introduced that used in world languages. After that historical development of Turkish language's consonant system and consonant presence of Historical Turkish Dialects was introduced. In the last part of this chapter, focuses on the causes of sound change in languages. The second section of our thesis is divided into sound events in Historical Turkish Dialects. This section which forms the main subject of the thesis, common events in consonants in Historical Turkish Dialects " voicing, geminate, consonant derivation, consonant assimilate, consonant dissappearance and displacement " are given with its definitions, reasons and examples. In the Conclusion of the thesis the relevant provisions of the data obtained are itemized. Bibliography in our thesis books and articles have been given utilized during the preparation of the the thesis.
