Abstract (EN)

Historical structures are in need of protection, which have cultural heritage. It is needed to known geometrical and material characteristics of this structures. Besides of this knowledge, structural analysis must be performed using appropriate modeling techniques. Necessary repair and strengthening must be made depending on the results of the analysis of structures in order to transfer historical structures to future generations without any deformation. In this study, damages occurred at the historical structures, repair and strengthening of this structures and modeling methods used in masonry structures are briefly explained after structural components and materials used in historic buildings are given. Great Mosque of Malatya, which is a masonry building and built in 1224 have selected for numerical application. This building?s linear and non-linear analyses are carried out by using the acceleration records of Bingöl earthquake, which has occurred in 01 May 2003. The mosque is modelled with finite element method using the macro-modeling approach. Solutions are obtained using ANSYS software package. The results presented in graphs is evaluated.
