Abstract (EN)

Spatial analysis of historical cities can be made with Remote Sensing, Geographical Information Systems and numerical methods with a field of study covering many disciplines. In this thesis study, which was created to determine the importance of the spatial areas and structures of the ancient city of Xanthos; with the aerial photograph obtained by the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, the texture of the city was extracted in the GIS infrastructure and the spatial elements in the image; the part-whole relationship-based GLCM texture parameter algorithm was analyzed with the "entropy" method. With entropy, which is accepted as a measure of disorder; the spatial elements in the ancient city were calculated one by one, adhering to the city site plan, and the change in the original appearance of the city was analyzed on a numerical scale. With this analysis, which spatial structure and area in the city are important for the city has been proven with statistical documentation according to the ANN estimation method created by the software language. With this work; the importance of the entropy method in defining historical places was emphasized and according to the results of the study; it is aimed to create a new perspective on spatial analyzes to be made for many types of study areas.
