Examination of cladding materials from the viewpoint of heat insulation through historical period

In this study, facade coating materials that are used in the past and today are examined, facade cladding materials are classified according to their properties and application methods, their effects on the heat energy requirement of the building are studied.In the first part of the study, the purpose, scope and method of the study are given. In the second part of the thesis, definitions about terms related to facade cladding materials are given, external facade cladding materials that are used in the past and today are introduced.In the third chapter, the facade coating materials are classified according to application methods, materials, production technology and method, and they are introduced from the viewpoint of system and properties. Classification is basicly made according to the application form of the external facade cladding and to the material characteristics as the two main topics, the materials that gained a new identity are introduced.The fourth section the contribution of the facade cladding materials introduced and examined from the viewpoint of heat insulation, the structure, the monthly heating energy demand and fuel expenses, the issues of the average monthly internal - external temperature difference up to the month is January, and the example of the TS825 are examined, the contribution of the facade cladding materials to the energy gain with the use of graphics prepared.In the conclusion, the payback time of the system with fuel savings is explained according to the graphics prepared keeping application cost in mind. Also facade claddings that can produce energy are introduced. The contributions of materials that are used on energy demand of buildings are brought to light and a proposal for the selection of the most useful facade cladding material is tried to be produced.
