Jamâat-i Islâmî in historical process

Jamâat-i Islami, one of the most influential and prominent Islamic movements in South Asia, was founded by seventy-five delegates who were invited by Sayyid Abu al-A'la al-Mawdûdî in the Indian subcontinent in August 1941. It was founded in Pakistan's Lahore to initiate an Islamic resurrection. In this study, we tried to reveal the influence of Jamâat-i Islami in the Islamic revival movements. By examining the factors who constituted the Jamâat-i Islami, the formation process of the Jamaat, the conditions under which the formation is formed, the organization structure, the toughts of the supporters, the Jamaat's place in Muslim world, its view about the sects, Mawdûdî and the subsequent leaders and the other organizations of Jamaat. We also discussed the involvement of Jamâat-i Islami in Pakistani politics, its influences, its competition against other political parties, its policy towards the state, and the state's approach to Jamâat. While all this historical process is examined, primarily, the as a contemporary religious movement Jamâat-i Islami's approach to religion and politics and how he reveals teh relation between religion and politics, his ideals and their reflects in real life, the Jamaat's place among contemporary Islamic movements, his thoughts which contradicts his ideology, the Jamaat's changes and transformations with developing events.
