Abstract (EN)
Tarık Buğra (1918-1994), is a master artist who has written many kinds of works such as novel, story, theater, newspaper authorship, sports reporting and criticism, but he has shone out especially with his novels, depending upon the principle "Art for art's sake" in the Turkish literature in the Republican Era. In Buğra's works there is usually a sensitivity of an artist who devotes himself to art and humanity. Tarık Buğra has generally studied on Turkish History in his novels. He has written Anatolian people's customs and traditions, culture, beliefs using a simple, clear, pure and live Turkish Language by treating with a town-centered perspective to the developments of the Historical process which continued from foundation of Ottoman Empire until the transition period to multi-party system in our history of the Republic. Tarık Buğra aims at expressing the society through individuals in his novels. This situation leads to the values of the society being exhibited in novels. He has expressed the joys, griefs, grievances and pride of his society in a poetic style. The novelist, who regards language as a national and human value, has exhibited this value thoroughly in his works. Tarık Buğra is one of the important figures of Turkish literature with the quality of his works and his unique style in narration. When Buğra's ten novels (Siyah Kehribar, Küçük Ağa, İbiş'in Rüyası, Firavun İmanı, Gençliğim Eyvah, Dönemeçte, Yalnızlar, Yağmur Beklerken, Osmancık, Dünyanın En Pis Sokağı) are examined in terms of values education, It is observed that he includes values such as love (love of darling, love of family and relatives, love of friends, love of nature, love of the country), responsibility, hospitality, salute, cleanliness, fidelity, respect, honesty, sensitivity, empathy, cooperation, care for family unity, courage, chaste, freedom, fairness and he exalts these values. Buğra's novels are rich works in terms of values education. The author considers that the existence of values is necessary for a happy and peaceful life because he believes that happy individuals make a happy society.
