İnvestigation of Tarık Dursun K.'s children's stories in terms of proverbs and idioms

In this study, the ten story books written for children by one of the children's literature writers, Tarık Dursun K., were examined and evaluated in terms of vocabulary elements (proverbs and idioms). As a result, the contribution of vocabulary elements to the meaning of the text and the language development of children was determined. In this study, scanning method was used. And a descriptive study was carried out by revealing the existence of the present. Firstly, information was given about children's literature and the historical development of children's literature and Tarık Dursun K.'s life, literary personality, works and studies on children's literature were explained. After that, Tarık Dursun K.'s proverbs and idioms which are included in children's stories were evaluated in terms of form and content. The contribution of the examined works to the written work was evaluated in detail and how the elements of vocabulary were used by the author was determined. The contribution of the child reader to the language development has been exposed with proverb and idioms which are in vocabulary elements and are used frequently by author. In the conclusion part, it is determined that vocabulary elements are used frequently in children's stories and they enrich the texts in terms of meaning while making changes in form. In addition, the semantic contribution of the proverbs and idioms identified in the works to the text was evaluated and it was concluded that the books written by Tarık Dursun K. had educational content for children and recommendations were made about what to do in children's literature texts.
