Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to determine the antioxidant activity of Salvia viridis L. which is grown in field or tissue culture method. DPPH (1,1-Diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) free radical screening activity was used to determine antioxidant activity. The total phenolic, flavonoid and DPPH IC50 values of S. viridis L. grown in field were found as 184.15 ± 36.70 mg GAE/g, 212.92 ± 11.18 mg QE/g, 117.51 mg/ml, respectively. Tissue culture method grown plant observed as 66.46 ± 0.19 mg GAE/g, 212.92 ± 11.18 mg QE/g and 185.40 mg/ml, respectively. As a result of this study, it was determined that Salvia viridis L. had high antioxidant activity, and it was observed that Salvia viridis L. grown in field showed more antioxidant activity than tissue culture method grown plant and it contained more active substances. Key Words: Sage, Salvia viridis L., DPPH, phenolic, tissue culture
