Abstract (EN)
This study was carried out with 1201 farmers in Malatya province districts where agricultural insurances are concentrated in 2020-2021 in order to determine the effects of agricultural insurances on agricultural production. In order to learn the intentions of the farmers who actively carry out agricultural production activities in Malatya districts, a questionnaire form was prepared by forming a total of 26 questions in the form of 6 questions about agricultural production intention, 10 questions about the attitude about agricultural insurance, 10 questions about agricultural risks and problems. SPSS 25.0 statistical program was used for the analysis of the obtained data. As a result of the study, while the agricultural production intention differs significantly according to the variable of gender, education status and marital status, on the other hand, agricultural insurance shows a significant difference according to the variable of education level, age and marital status, apart from the variable of the area of replacement. In short, in line with the statistical results of this research, it has been revealed that manufacturers are effective in adopting innovations or in the tendency to take insurance to protect their products, to reduce risk, according to the highlighted variables. It has been determined that the agricultural production intention and the attitude towards agricultural insurance differ significantly according to the variable of attitude towards risk. It has been seen that those who love risk have higher agricultural production intentions than those who do not like risk, and those who do not like risk have higher agricultural production intentions than those who are indifferent to risk, and these differences are statistically significant. It has been determined that the agricultural production intention and the attitude towards agricultural insurance differ significantly according to the listening/watching variable of communication channels. It has been seen that the average score average of those who listen/watch the communication channels every day, have higher agricultural production intentions than the other groups (never, occasionally, 1-2 times a week) and these differences are statistically significant. Agricultural production intention and attitude towards agricultural insurance differ significantly according to active internet use. Accordingly, it has been observed that the agricultural production intention recorded in those who do not actively use the Internet is statistically significantly higher than those who actively use the Internet. Agricultural production intention and attitude towards Agricultural insurance differ significantly according to the consultation with agricultural consultants. Accordingly, the agricultural production intention, which emerged as a result of not interviewing with agricultural consultants, was found to be statistically significantly higher than when interviewed with agricultural consultants. As a result, it can be suggested that the agricultural support projects for the youth, the amount of support in the project and the number of beneficiaries should be increased, and employment opportunities should be provided to the youth in rural areas, so that the role of the youth in the agricultural sector should be increased.
