Özet (EN)

In this study conducted throughout Bayburt province, social, economic and demographic characteristics were determined through face-to-face interviews, and data on agriculture, animal husbandry, forestry and beekeeping were obtained. In addition, agroforestry systems practiced in the region were also determined. In the field studies, the volume (128,077.91 m3), area (561.2 ha) and the amount of carbon stored (54,026.36 tons) of poplar trees in the region were calculated. In the light of this information, agroforestry scenarios were created and economically analyzed in order to develop and expand agroforestry practices. Benefit Cost Ratio, Internal Rate of Return and Net Present Value criteria were used for the economic analysis of six scenarios. As a result of the calculations, the scenarios with the highest net present value (172,651TL) were wheat + poplar + livestock + beekeeping and the scenarios with the highest benefit cost ratio (15.95) were alfalfa + poplar + livestock + beekeeping. The aim of this study is to identify and develop traditional agroforestry activities in Bayburt province and to benefit from the ecological and economic advantages offered by these practices by creating agroforestry practices suitable for the region.
