Analyzeses for the interior space organization changes of Tarsus houses between 1800-1998

Social and economic factors change during the course of time. All these afore mentioned factors which do change both the daily life and the structure of the family affect the spatial organisation of the houses. The financial situation of the dweller, structure of the family and personal needs cause a change in spatial organisation. In this study, a general description of Tarsus is made, the development of the city is dwelled on and the houses, which are analysed within the framework of this development, have been classified according to their construction dates. The spatial organisation of the houses and changes in these have been established and moreover, and these changes are viewed from the viewpoint of the cultural and economic characteristic of the user. In the classification the buildings are observed according to their plan, structural system, their time of construction and the dweller's preference of furniture.
