Abstract (EN)
Tarsus history has hosted many ancient civilizations. In the period from the Hittites to the present, many different groups have lived in Tarsus. Every living community has left cultural pieces that can be considered valuable treasures on these precious lands. These cultural pieces have been transferred from generation to generation through the ages through symbols and rituals. People; In this process, they reflected the pictures, sculptures and descriptions that were told to them or that they saw on the old tablets into their own art. A carpenter has embroidered the burden of this past on a door he has made, a jeweler has embroidered the burden of this past on a jewelery he designed, or a building made by an architect also pays attention to this cultural work. In this study, it is aimed to use jewelry to transfer inherited information to the future. In order to put this transfer on a scientific basis, and while designing and producing jewelry, this information is comprehensively included in the introduction part of the thesis. In the introduction part of the thesis, Tarsus; history, historical symbols, rituals, rituals related to traditional customs and traditions were examined. The information about jewelry, which is determined as a means of conveying this information, has been extensively studied. New jewelry was designed by blending information about Tarsus and information about jewelry. In these jewelry; wood (maple), lead, leather, silk thread, natural stones, miyuki beads, bronze, silver, copper, bone, natural stones, silk cord, cotton threads, paper thread, guipure, tassel, copper money, etc. Materials and wood carving techniques, needle lace technique, peyote technique, rag weaving technique were used. Some of these designed jewelries were only drawn as designs and some were produced. Jewelry identities of all designs were created and detailed information was provided about the design of the jewelry. With this thesis prepared in line with this information, it is aimed to transfer ancient knowledge to the next generation.
