Abstract (EN)

In this study, which aims to examine the effects of design-based learning practices on the design and problem-solving skills of normal and gifted students in the 3rd grade of primary school, the action research method was used. This research was carried out with 24 3rd-grade students who continue their education in public school and BILSEM in the 2020-2021 academic year. In this study, experimental and control groups were used. Within the scope of the research, five activities were conducted for five weeks, which were planned by including the objectives in the BILSEM module in line with the objectives of the 3rd-grade Life Sciences lesson. In the interview form analysis made after the pre-application, expert opinion was taken, and rearrangement was made. As data collection tools, the problem-solving skills scale, the evaluation key to the engineering design process, interview forms, researcher diaries, drawings, and student products were used. As a result of the study, it was observed that there was a change in the problem-solving skills of the normal and gifted primary school 3rd-grade experimental group students in aspects on scientific basis. It has been concluded that design-based learning applications are liked by students, parents and classroom teachers, were seen as fun, and they wanted the process to continue.
