Özet (EN)

This study is about the concepts of gratitude and prayer in Sufism. These two concepts, which came to the fore in the context of God-human relationship, had an important place in the life of Sufis. The main point in Sufism, where the reflections of Islam on practical life are seen, is the love of God. The basis of this love is to know Him. This will only be possible by getting to know oneself. Gratitude is knowing the true owner of the blessings. A person who is aware of his helplessness recognizes Almighty Allah and gives thanks knowing that the blessings come from Him. After that, he wants to communicate with Him and prays. In the introduction part of the study, which consists of an introduction, two parts and a conclusion, the subject, purpose, method, scope and limitations of the research were mentioned. In the first part, we tried to reveal the place of the concept of "thankfulness" in the Qur'an and hadiths by giving the meanings of words and terms. We have tried to explain the parts of gratitude that we come across here, under the headings, by giving place to the views of the Sufis. Then, we included the views of mystics who gave wide coverage to the subject under the title of gratitude in classical Sufi sources. In the second part, we touched on the subject of "Prayer". We tried to explain the definition of prayer, its position in verses and hadiths, the differences of opinion in the Sufi literature and some related concepts. As a result, we concluded our study by determining that gratitude and prayer are interrelated concepts in Sufism, which focuses on the God-human relationship. Keywords: Sufism, Gratitude, Prayer, Praise, Blessing.
