Abstract (EN)
Floods are among the most important natural disasters that cause loss of life and property, psychological problems etc. If the factors that cause floods are correctly detected on time, it is possible to reduce the losses. The precautions to be taken before, during and after the flood and the practices to be carried out are very important in minimizing the flood damages. Flood routing methods are among the measures to be taken before flood. Flood routing is used in spillway design and resorvoir operation. Flood routing refers to the time variation of the flood wave in a channel or reservoir. If the flood hydrographs, peak flow rates, flow conditions of the flood wave and technical details of the channel or reservoir are known, it will be easier to decide on the method to be used. Flood routing methods are divided into two as hydrological and hydraulic methods. While continuity equation is used in hydrological methods, momentum equation is used in addition to continuity equations in hydraulic methods. In this study, hydrological and hydraulic routing methods were compared in Bahçelik, Deriner and Karakaya dam lakes, which have long and narrow reservoirs similar to river flow. It has been seen that Muskingum, one of the hydrological routing methods, gives the best results, while Puls and Runge-Kutta methods give results compatible with the Kinematic Wave method, which is one of the hydraulic routing methods. Therefore, it has been demonstrated that hydrological routing methods, which are simpler to use and have less workload, can be used instead of hydraulic routing methods, which have a high processing load and are difficult to use. In addition, flood flow analyzes were carried out with the help of the HEC-RAS program, and data such as water surface profiles, cross-section details, water levels and flow characteristics were obtained Keywords: Flood Routing, Runge-Kutta, Muskingum, Kinematic Wave, HEC-RAS
