Mobile primary education applications and their problems

Mobile Primary Education Application was needed in order to implement 8year compulsory Primary Education in Turkey. 18 of the topics determined inadvance in the research were analyzed according to the sub-topics.The aim of this research is to bring up the opinions of the administrators , theteachers and the parents regarding the problems of mobile Primary EducationApplications in the city of Bolu, implemented by Ministry of Education and tosuggest some ideas after analysing and commenting on them.Sample population of the research consists of all the administrators, theteachers of the 15 center schools for Mobile-Primary Education and 550 students?parents determined by sampling method in the city of Bolu in 2004-2005 academic-years.This research is a ?Quantitative? study in terms of analysis techniques.Frequencies and percentages were taken into account in analyzing the data inorder to find out the opinions of the administrators, the teachers and the parents.Chi-Square test was implemented in order to find out the differences among theopinions of the groups.According to the diagnosis, the administrators, the teachers and the parentsthink that there has been no problem at all regarding the topic that the students travelstanding in the vehicles. As for the topic whether Mobile Primary Education causesextra expenses for the parents or not; the administrators, the teachers and the parentsthink that they have no problem at all about that.The administrators think that they occasionally have problems regarding thetopic that bad road conditions which causes difficulty in transporting in winter timeand the difficulty of adaptation of the transporting students to their schools andfriends.As for the common problems found out by the administrators, the teachersand the parents as well as the diagnosis are the difficulty of transporting studentsbecause of the bad road conditions in winter time and the increase in the problems ofschool administrations due to the implementation of Mobile Primary EducationApplications.Furthermore, the administrators are the group complaining about theproblems most in the survey consisting of 18 topics.Some of the suggestions emphasized in the research are as in the following:The expenses of the government for the Mobile Primary Education should beincreased. The roads should be repaired especially in winter time, and the villageroads used for Mobile Primary Education should be repaired first competed to theother roads which are out of use due to the harsh winter conditions. Theadministrations of the center Mobile Primary Education schools should be givenenough support so that they can solve the increasing problems. First, guidancecounselors, civil servants and sufficient staff should be provided for these schools.Key words: Problems of Mobile Primary Education Applications.
