Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to search the Encephalitazoon cuniculi seroprevalance of the New Zealand race laboratory rabbits in different treatment and breeding systems and also to set forth the elements that have an effect on the seroprevalance by taking into account tha data from this reseach. The serum samples (30 pieces) that have been maintained in open, semi open and controlled areas and which the environmental opportunities, hygiene situations with treatment and feeding conditions have been provded from 3 different enterprises, have been assessed by using ELISA kits. Consequently it has been specified 63.3 percent seropositivity in all of samples. The serologic results of the animals that have been bred in traditional pens with no hygiene rules and the ones that have been bred in fully controlled systems were close to each other whereas the seropositivity in the rest of the facilities were lower. In the context of the data obtained, it has been seen that the animals taken into facility can be infected by getting orjin and an infected animal can be the source of infection for the many other animals in the facility. It has also been concluded that the septic and aseptic rules which are potentially accepted in the facilties are not enough in fighting with the factor and that the zoonotic disease can be a risk for the animal keepers and the researchers. Other than that, it has also been determined that the selection of the animals that will be integrated with the herd at the end of the quarantine period after the serological scanning is really important for the health of the herd.
