Abstract (EN)
Tchihatchewia isatidea Boiss (Brassicaceae) is known among the public as reddish bride, paint and bridal flower. Flower parts are used for staining, roots for wound healing, and flowering branches for treatment of cough. In this study, it is aimed to determine the nutritional (crude protein, crude ash, crude oil, crude cellulose, carbohydrate, moisture, dry matter, energy, element and vitamin) and medical effects (antioxidant, antimicrobial and DNA protective effect) of T. isatidea. T. isatidea had 91.60% dry matter, 14.40% crude ash, 29.02% crude cellulose, 1.80% crude fat, 20.60% crude protein, 63.21% carbohydrate, 77.20% organic matter, 351.62 kcal energy, 2.82 mg/g vitamin A, 22.95 mg/g vitamin E, 133.56 nmol/g MDA, 42.5 mg/kg of K, 260 mg/kg of Na, 102.4 mg/kg of Ca, 1.59 mg/kg of Fe, 1.160 mg/kg of Zn, 0.121 mg/kg of Cu, 7.49 mg/kg of Mn and 2.16 mg/kg of Pb. The total antioxidant level of T. isatidea was 3.91 μmol/L and the total oxidant level was 6.96 μmol/L. The DPPH radical scavenging activity of the plant extract was 11.68% at 10 μL, 30.80% at 25 μL, 68.20% at 50 μL and 82.34% at 100 μL. In the presence of UV and H2O2 it was found to protect scDNA. Also, it has been determined that the plant's flower extract inhibits the development of pathogenic microorganisms at different rates (8-13 mm diam.).
