Maturidi's approach to the concepts of relevation and tidings in the context of Ta'wîlâtü'l-Qur'an

This study is about the investigation of the source and information value of the tidings, the approach to the related concepts, and the understanding of revelation, which is dealt with in the concepts of "Revelation" and "Naba (Tidings)" in the works of Imam Mâturîdî, Kitâbü't-Tawhîd and Ta'wîlâtü'l-Qur'an. In this context, it is aimed to examine the practice of the epistemology of tidings and the view of revelation revealed by Mâturîdî in the commentary Kitâbü't-Tawhîd in the Ta'wîlâtü'l-Qur'an and to determine whether there is consistency between these works. In the introduction part of the study, which consists of an introduction, three chapters and a conclusion, general information about the subject, scope, method and basic reference sources is provided. In the first chapter, the concept of tidings in the tafsir (Qur'anic commentary) literature is defined in terms of the concept of "Naba" and "Revelation". Within the conceptual and theoretical framework of the study, the issues such as the interpretation, source, value and limits of tidings are presented, in particular, on the basis tafsir knowledge. In the second part, by examining the book called Kitâbü't-Tawhîd, which deals with the epistemological grounding of the "revelation" that Mâturîdî deals with under the subject of tidings, it is aimed to reveal the tidings information and the nature of the revelation by examining how the tidings knowledge and the grounding of the revelation are made and the connection of the revelation with the heart. In this context, the verses in the Qur'an where the concept of "revelation" is mentioned are categorized, and the interpretation, source and information value of the understanding of revelation in the tafsir by Mâturîdî's Ta'wîlâtü'l-Qur'an are systematically addressed. In this section, the dimension of revelation concerning the acquisition of information, its relationship with inspiration and dreams are also included. In the third chapter, it is determined what Mâturîdî's understanding of tidings is based on. Since the scope of tidings knowledge in the science of tafsir is wide and the concept of "naba" is appropriate in terms of a temporal categorization, the subject specific to the related concept is limited and the findings about how Mâturîdî interprets the verses with an understanding of tidings are revealed. In this framework, the verses in the Qur'an where the concept of "naba" is mentioned are categorized, and the interpretation of the relevant verses in Ta'wîlâtü'l-Qur'an by Mâturîdî and their interpretation from our point of view is also presented.
