Business continuity management in supply chain and a sectoral investigation

Business continuity is the whole of the works that make the processes work by determining the critical business processes of the companies and ensuring the continuity of these processes or making the processes work as soon as possible. Business continuity is of great importance especially in terms of ensuring the continuity of the company in today's competitive conditions. The purpose of all companies is to ensure their continuity and profit in the long term. In this context, the companies manage many dynamics simultaneously, besides producing high quality and cost-effective products, such as timely delivery of the product, accurate perception of customer's demands and customer satisfaction. For this reason, companies need to establish the supply chain systems correctly, which includes all processes from raw material procurement to the final consumer. A disruption in the supply chain will be reflected in all processes and will cause more problems. The concept of a supply chain, which covers the critical business processes of business, intersects with the concept of business continuity at this point. With the concept of business continuity, the possible risks and problems in the supply chain can be prevented or solved as soon as possible and the continuity of the company can be ensured. Nowadays, while some businesses adopt the concept of business continuity, some businesses do not adopt and implement them. In our research, the level of pauses in the supply chain, the problems caused by the related pauses in the enterprises and whether or not the business continuity management is applied as the solution of these problems or the extent to which it is applied is examined.
