Abstract (EN)
Because of cheap and simple design, single-phase induction motors are extensively used both industrial and domestic applications in several electro-mechanical systems. The single-phase induction motor is used with an auxiliary winding and/or a series connected capacitors. After reaching the nominal speed, the auxiliary winding is deactivated via a switch in series with this auxiliary winding. The subject of this thesis is introduction of a single-phase induction motor drive that is increased the starting torque without reducing the efficiency of the motor. In thesis, mathematical model of the motor is obtained and its speed control is realized. Indirect rotor field oriented method is used to control of the speed of the motor. Simulation studies are realized in MATLAB/Simulink environment. The speed tracking performance of the motor is investigated according to the different speed reference values and load disturbances.
