Abstract (EN)

This thesis examines the educational policies implemented during the One-Party Era in Turkey between 1923 and 1950, and the ideological foundations on which these policies were based. The study aims to analyze the educational policies of the period, particularly through the educational perspective of Hasan Ali Yücel, who served as Minister of National Education between 1938 and 1946. The theoretical framework of the research is constituted by the social constructivist approach. This approach assumes that educational policies are not only a pedagogical process but also a political and social construction process. In this context, the historical legacy extending from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic, the Republic's urban education practices, Village Institutes, and curriculum changes are examined in detail. Institutions such as Village Institutes are considered important examples that reflect the ideological goals of the period from a social construction perspective. This study aims to contribute to understanding and interpreting the relationship between educational policies, ideology, and social construction in the early Republican period.
