Mardin in the Single Politikal Party Period/Regime

This study aims to analyse the effects of the Republican People?s Party (The CHP) on Mardin in the single party regime period. Principally, the political, social, economical, cultural and military effects of the CHP on Mardin was examined by mentioning about the histories of Mardin and the CHP in Mardin in the Single Political Party Regime. It was emphasized how this period was taken into a mild-mannered condition in the Single Political Party Period, while feudal system was so strong in Mardin. A good deal of sources about the histories of Mardin and the CHP was procured. However the resources about the effects of the CHP on Mardin couldn?t be procured in the Single Political Party Regime. The most important source for such a study was the Press and Formal Province Newspaper which was established in the year of 1927. Although this newspaper had an importance until 1930,it couldn?t work productively. Press-Newspaper Manager M. Siret BAYAR bought the newspaper and then he published it again named ?Ulus Sesi? Voice of Nation in 1933. The newspaper especially emphasized the information about People?s Houses which was one of the most important organizations of the CHP and the Six Beam of the CHP. As a result of the investigations in the National Library (the main source) ,Beyazıt, Bilkent, ODTU (METU),TBMM libraries, the records of the National Voice Newspaper dating from the year of 1936 was procured .Keys Words: Single Political Party Period, CHP ( Republican People?s Party), Mardin, People House, The Elections between 1923 and 1950.
