Abstract (EN)
The newly established republic made significant progress in political, economic and social issues in order to strengthen the nation's ties with the regime. In this process, the land issue, including political, social, economic and cultural issues, became one of the priority problems to be solved. Although steps were taken to address this issue with the laws enacted in the 1930s, a complete reform was not realized. The land reform drafts prepared by the Ministries of Interior, Health and Social Welfare could not be realized due to the opposition's and large landowners reactions and the approaching World War II. The Farmer Land Law enacted in 1945 did not yield the desired results due to both political and technical infrastructure problems. This thesis deals with the land distribution practices that took place between 1920 and 1945 and is based on the documents of the Republican Archives of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, minutes of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, periodicals, copyright and research Works. The introductory part of our study focuses on the concept of land reform and discusses the reasons why this reform is necessary in Turkey. In the first chapter, a general panorama of the developments in agriculture and economy from the Ottoman Empire to the Republican Era is presented. In the second part, information is given on the land distribution practices and the land law drafts prepared between 1920 and 1945. In the third part, information on the Farmer Land Law is given and the political debates in the Parliament are included. Keywords: Land, Land Law, Republican People's Party, Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
