Nowadays, the economic and political conditions exert the individual to crossexamination of nation-state. The popular culture rising in these conditions anticipates global citizenship. A kind of citizenship in the system includes impossible economical sovereignty is impossible. The concept of citizenship comes to modern mean during the evolution of nation ?state. Citizenship concept has not developed in Ottoman Empire. The subject of Ottoman?s land has transformed into the citizens have rights and responsibilities in the becoming contemporary progression accelerated by he declaration of republic in Turkey. In this study the child magazines additions in process for individuals as citizenships in early republican era have searched. Nation, state, republic are the basic concepts for building citizenship cosciousness. The characteristic of national culture have an importance for the becoming contemporary progression. The Letter Revolution has provided for literacy of public and aimed saving Turkish culture and Turkish language from the negative effects of Arab culture. For this aim, magazines publishing that a kind of prolongation to modernizing process in 19 th century at Ottoman period was utilized. There were different child magazines in the early republican era. The child magazines published with new Turkish alphabet have searched in this study. During the one party rule period in Turkey when turned towards instutional stucture was expanded by public, information retrieval was increased by citizens and the child magazines were educational medias during this period. The child magazines consider the social benefits had tutor and protector functions to developing national culture.
