Abstract (EN)
Composite materials are used in many industries such as aviation, aerospace and automotive as they are light and durable nowadays. However internal stresses occur between these materials at different temperatures and these stresses are different according to the their connection types, since composites are produced from different materials. In this thesis, high density polyethylene and glass fiber reinforced polypropylene composite materials are combined with the single lap method and their mechanical properties under different temperatures are investigated, experimentally. Produced high density polyethylene (HDPE) sheets and glass fiber reinforced polypropylene sheets are combined with single lap method with different combination. The bonding surfaces of the specimens are 25x25 mm. Tensile tests were performed to the specimens under 25°C, 50°C and 75°C and tensile strengths were determined. Different bonding types of composites were compared with experiments data. In order to investigate the temperature effect along with the low velocity impact, the impact tests were carried out at an energy level of 5 and 10J. According to the results, the tensile strength of the specimens decreased with increasing temperature.
