Abstract (EN)
Freud begins his article "The Uncanny" by considering the relationship between art, aesthetics and psychoanalysis. It is possible to express the concept of the uncanny as an example of what psychoanalysis says about art. The surrealist movement, which is an avant-garde art movement in which Freudian ideas have a triggering effect, believes that it is possible to produce artworks that visualize the functioning of the unconscious. In this context, during the interpretation and production of art, scientists who want to connect the gap between art and the psychology of the artist invite us to analyze by directing us to psychoanalysis in order to understand and define an artwork. "Automatism", which has been one of the popular methods of modern art since the 1930s, carries the influence of the free association method used in psychoanalytic treatment. It is a method used by surreal artists for the revelation of the creative effect of the unconscious in art. The research conducted in line with this method, which is thought to be the only way to trigger creativity, is based on Edmund Burke Feldman's "investigative art criticism", which is the pedagogical art criticism method of the "uncanny" and "unconscious" concepts from the Surreal movement. Rena Magritte's "The Threshold of Freedom", Max Ernst's "Eye of Silence" and Hans Bellmer's "La Poupé" are tried to be examined in the light of method application and analysis. In order to use this method in visual arts education, which aims to provide an area where educators and students in the field can make an original contribution so that they can express critical and creative thinking; it has been discussed that the plastic elements of the work are used mainly with which methods and for what purpose, the symbols used, the period in which the work was produced, and the social events in every aspect. This study, which aims to provide an area where educators and students in the field can make original contributions so that they can express critical and creative thinking, investigates the methods and purposes for which the plastic elements of the work are used; and discusses the symbols used, within the context of the period in which the work was produced and social events experienced in this period.
