Abstract (EN)

The geological and morphological structure of Şarköy District of Tekirdağ Province is a very sensitive region in terms of landslide disasters and has been exposed to many landslide disasters. In this study, a landslide susceptibility map of Şarköy District was prepared based on the lithologic, elevation, curvature, aspect and slope information obtained from 104 landslide areas determined by the Mineral Technical Exploration Institute. Within the scope of the study, 104 landslide areas were converted into 1161 points, 871 points corresponding to 75% of these points were used in the creation of the map and 290 points corresponding to 25% were used in the verification. The prepared landslide map was divided into 5 categories according to landslide susceptibility: very low, low, medium high and very high. Of the 290 points used in the verification of the prepared landslide susceptibility map, 72% corresponded to high and very high areas, 23% to areas with medium landslide susceptibility, and 5% to areas with low and very low landslide susceptibility.
