The flora of Tekmezar Mount (Sarıbudak, Artvin) and its close environs

SUMMARY THE FLORA OF TEKMEZAR MOUNT (SARIBUDAK, ARTVİN) AND ITS CLOSE ENVIRONS This study has been carried out between 2013-2015 in order to determine the flora of1 Tekmezar Mounth (Sarıbudak, Artvin) and ıts Close Environs. The research area under review is taken place in Colchic province of Euro-Siberian floristic area of Holarctic region and is found in the A8 square according to grid system of Davis. The study area lies between 300 and 3224 m elevation above the sea level. In this study, total 365 plant taxa belong to 79 families and 234 genera were determined. 11 of them belong to Pteridophyta, the remaining 354 taxa were Spermatophyta which included 4 taxa from Gymnospermae and 350 taxa from Angiospermae. The largest families recorded were as follows: Compositae (45 taxa), Leguminosae (33 taxa), Rosaceae (28 taxa), Lamiaceae (25 taxa), Boraginaceae (14 taxa), Caryophyllaceae (12 taxa), Brassicaceae (11 taxa), Ranunculaceae (10 taxa), Apiaceae (10 taxa) ve Plantaginaceae (9 taxa). The percentage of phytogeographical origins of 174 taxa was determined. The distribution of the taxa according to the phytogeographical regions was as follows: Avrupa-Sibirya with 130 taxa (%35,6), Iran-Turan with 37 taxa (%10,2), Mediterranean with 7 taxa (%1,9) and multiregional or of unknown phytogeographic origin with 191 taxa (%52,3). The life form spectrum of the taxon was as follows: Hemicryptophytes 109 taxa (%29,9), Cryptophytes 66 taxa (%18,1), Phanerophytes 49 taxa (%13,4), Chamaephytes 48 taxa (%13,2) and Therophytes 31 taxa (%8,5). Endemism is % 4,4 and included 16 endemic taxa and 29 non-endemic rare plants. The endemic plants and non-endemic rare plants in the study area have been classified according to IUCN threat catagories. Key Words: Flora, Tekmezar Mountain, Colchic region, Sarıbudak, Endemic.
