Abstract (EN)
Today, due to the increase in technology usage and practices, there is a need to examine the relationship between technology addiction and identity becoming an object of consumption as a result of this addiction. The fact that every individual can use technology in all areas of their lives regardless of time and place causes technology to expand the area of use in individuals' lives. Thus, although technology offers easy and accessible ways of meeting almost every need in individuals 'lives, it also causes the questioning of important concepts in individuals' lives and changing their meanings. When the current literature is examined, it is seen that there is no study directly addressing the issue of technology addiction and consumption of identity. For this reason, this study examines whether technology addiction and addiction make individuals' identities an object of consumption, using semi-structured interview technique, one of the qualitative research methods. At the end of the study, in addition to the studies in the literature, the use of technology has become an addiction and the relation of this addiction with identity consumption is emphasized. As a result of the study, it is seen that with the individuals' technology use reaching the level of addiction, individuals have entered into a questioning about the concept of "identity" and as a result of this questioning, they glorify or change their identity.
