Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) are widely used by crowds. These technologies, like their ancestors, change daily habits and alter space-product perceptions and designs. Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) is the field that investigates noble ways to integrate these technologies into daily life by offering subtle interactions. This field covers user interface research along with artificial intelligence, augmented reality research. User Interface design stands as an important aspect as the mediums change but the need for a designed interface does not. To connect with the digital world there must be an interface; digital or physical, graphical or multidimensional. Thus the emergence of this area is important to understand the trends in the designed mediums. Another important aspect that should be taken into consideration in design is the notion of artificial intelligence. Though it is not possible to create a human-like intelligence in a short period, there are some finely programmed systems that can assist humans during their daily tasks. One other advancement in ICTs that affects products and environments is augmented reality. It brings the ability to add digital entities into everyday surroundings. Even though the interaction is achieved with head displays, this technology brings several advantages. While the technological aspects of the ICTs are investigated under the field of Human-Computer Interaction, the relation between products and these technologies cannot be missed. ICTs are both changing the trends in the market, and the designing process along with the features of the objects. Do-it-yourself communities, Makers communities along with the free-knowledge sources on the World Wide Web changes the way people interact with design. Another aspect related to products is the immaterialisation. Though physical presences of ICTs were dominant for years, this dominance lose importance as they become embedded into each other and into surroundings. For several years of Human-Computer Interaction research, the interaction was through black boxes with screens and keyboards. With developments in related areas both the interaction and the host of these technology is changing, becoming more natural, more humane. The way of interaction is changing from visual experience to total body experience, while the designed medium is shifting to environments from products. This shift leads to interdisciplinary collaborations. Though defining a discipline and defending their professionalists' rights is important, in this changing world where the knowledge is reachable by anyone interested is possible, designers, engineers and craftsmen should be open about interdisciplinary work. Rooms are becoming products and electronic products are being embedded to space. For architects and interior architects/designers it is important understand the dynamics of these technologies. The 'Smart' notion can offer many complementary features to homes other then adjusting lights/ HVAC/ locks of the house or tracking health of inhabitants. With the Internet of Things many household objects became able to communicate each other and the inhabitants, and with the developments in Artificial Intelligence research it would be possible to say homes will become personal assistants. Interior architects should combine their knowledge about human behaviour and space organization with Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). Whole body experience has been used by architects for centuries as buildings and interior spaces are designed to embrace human body and senses. Their knowledge can lead to new possibilities in the user interface design. The ICTs and Interaction Design offer new ways of architecture, but to make use of these ways architects should learn about the delicacies of technology. ICTs are offering the mind, while architecture is offering the vessel. To create subtle interaction between technology and humans and also to protect humans' rich attainments gained through centuries collaboration should be supported. While architects can offer their knowledge about human-space relation, product designers can offer their knowledge of product-human relation. Engineers as the developers of these technologies also have deep knowledge that can be a great contribution to these fields. Thus collaboration between the each related field should be supported as this would result in more successful and less harmful environments.
