Evaluation of teachers' views on the technology and design lesson 7th and 8th grade 2018 program

With this research, it is aimed to examine the opinions of teachers regarding the "Technology and Design Program", which came into force in 2018, according to the basic elements of the education programs, namely the acquisitions, content, learning-teaching processes and evaluation dimensions. The case study design which was conducted with the qualitative research method was used in this research,. In the data collection process, a semi-structured interview form developed by the researcher was used. Opinions of a program development expert and an assessment and evaluation expert were taken regarding the prepared interview form. After the arrangements made according to these views, a trial interview was held with two teachers, and an interview form was prepared in line with the feedback received. The study group of the research consisted of 16 teachers who volunteered to participate in the research from the central districts of Antalya, Muratpaşa, Konyaaltı, Kepez and Döşemealtı. In this study, descriptive analysis method was used. According to the findings obtained from the research, it has been determined that the learning areas are appropriate in terms of program outcomes, but there is no definite consensus about the adequacy of the number of acquisitions. In addition, it was found that the content was suitable for the readiness of the students. In addition, it has been determined that there is insufficient equipment, subject repetitions are given too much and the use of the workshop is insufficient. In addition, it has been found that the curriculum is suitable for multi-focused assessment. In addition, it was determined that observation and product evaluation forms were used as measurement tools. Based on the research, it is suggested that the Technology and Design course should be included in the 5th and 6th grades, the duration of the course should be increased and interdisciplinary cooperation should be made, the workshop opportunities should be increased with the support of equipment, the course activities should be diversified and the curriculum should be updated in line with the school facilities.
