The effects of technological progress to the process of recruitment and selection of human resources and an application

In the research, the evaluation of the effects caused by the information technologies in the globalizing world during the process of recruitment of human resources and determine of to what degree and how people benefited from this technology to be employed, are aimed.The majority of the personnel employed in the enterprises are comprised of people recruited with traditional ways; yet the research targets the ones newly recruited and thus benefited from the latest technology. For this reason the employed people among the postgraduates of Gazi University Institute of Education Sciences are selected as the population. The sample of the research is comprised of 132 postgraduates both receiving education from Gazi University Institute of Education Sciences in the 2008 ? 2009 educational year and employed in enterprises. A questionnaire form of 12 items is prepared to be used in the research. SPSS 11.0 packet program is used to analyze the data acquired. Chi-square test is used in the determination of the relations between the personal information and the questions about the research topic.According to the findings acquired in the end of the research, it is found that the %40,9 percent of the participants are recruited by the internet. While mostly young people benefit from the technological developments; computer becomes the most used device among the technological devices. Participants state that they mostly entered the sites ?www.insankaynaklari.com? (%34,1) and ?www.yenibiris.com? (%31,1) among the other sites pointing out that they follow web sites in the process of looking for a job.The majority of the participants in the research have the opinion that utilization from technology in the process of recruitment and selection of human resources provides saving of time (%25,8) and reducing the cost (%23,5).
