Özet (EN)
Rapidly growing industrialization to meet the needs of the increasing population in the world causes the formation of hazardous/non-hazardous waste to increase rapidly. This situation increases the importance of processes such as recycling, recovery and reuse. Many wastes generated during the production processes of industries have significant potential in terms of being recycled as raw materials, producing new products and providing added value. One of the sectors with a high potential to obtain raw materials or new products in terms of waste generated as an industrial activity is the textile sector. The wastes generated in the textile sector can be used as an additive raw material in yarn production as a result of various processes and in obtaining a different product. There are deficiencies in both the literature and practice at the point of obtaining composite materials for the reuse of textile wastes with different applications. Composite materials are defined as new materials obtained by combining at least two different materials in macro dimensions, and advanced materials in which the superior properties of this self-forming material take place in the new material. Due to the high strength and lightness of these materials, they are used in many different sectors such as automotive, construction and sports equipment. Composite materials consist of various matrix and reinforcement elements. Thermoset resins (epoxy, vinyl ester and polyester) are commonly used in composite engineering applications. In this thesis, the mechanical, thermal and acoustic properties of composite plates obtained by using different resin types, textile wastes and a commercial product, glass fiber material, were investigated. In addition, the obtained composite plates were compared in terms of their investigated properties. Accordingly, composite plates obtained by using textile wastes have advantages over plates obtained by using glass fiber. Composite plates obtained by using glass fiber showed superiority in the field of thermal conductivity. Accordingly, it has been determined that the plates obtained from textile wastes can be evaluated in terms of thermal conductivity, while the glass fiber reinforced plates have mechanical potential.
