Abstract (EN)

Treatment of textile wastewaters is really important to following the strict legislations and to protect the natural balance of our environment. Especially in the last years, new regulations were established by our country for the management of water basins. Direct usage of potable water supplies is restricted with the new regulations. This situation has leaded the industry to alternative methods like water recovery and water reuse.Membrane processes is one of the advanced treatment methods to recover water from wastewaters. Usage of membrane processes becomes more and more popular due to available different methods for membrane production, alternative membrane characteristics and decresing prices of membrane manufacturing costs. In this context, treatment and reuse of textile wastewaters studied with nanofiltration membranes after alternative pre-treatment methods. Reuse of the permeate that obtained from membrane treatment is suitable for reuse. However on the other hand, concentrate generated from membrane process has high concentrations of contaminants. Treatment and disposal of concentrates is a major worldwide problem. Within the context of this thesis, biochemical methane potential of concentrates that generated from the treatment of textile wastewaters with membrane processes researched. Also, some of the changes in membrane surface after the treatment are examined as well.
