At this research, the effects of the theory of multiple intelligences and traditional narration method on student success at textile technology courses are evaluated on the sophomore students of clothing production technology field at a maiden's trade high school.This research is carrried out between 2006-2007 education years with the sophomore students of clothing production technology at Kalaba Maiden's Trade High School in Kecioren, in the city of Ankara.From the field of clothing production technology at Kalaba Maiden's Trade High School, 24 students each from 10-A and 10-B classes have attended the research twice a week, during 40 minutes class hours and four classes in a week.At the research, a questionnaire about the social and cultural backgrounds to enable parity between the two groups and a pre-test to determine that the perceiving levels of the students are close to one another are applied.The first control group (10-A) is exposed to traditional teaching methods while the second control group (10-C) is treated according to the teaching methods of the theory of multiple intelligences. At the end of the practice, a last test is applied on both test groups. The attained data is analized with independent sample t test and double cross test. The results are assessed at 0,05 meaningfulness level.In conclusion, at this research, it is demonstrated that the theory of multiple intelligences contributes to the success of sophomore students at textile technology courses.It is also pin-pointed during class observations that the students pay more attention to the courses than before.
