Prof. Dr. Orhan BÜYÜKALACA In this study, the information was given about general textile finishing, the methods and machinery. Advantages and disadvantages of bobbin finishing and the pre-processes for bobbin dyeing were explained in detail. Regarding to bobbin dyeing machines, their working principles and the mechanisms were also examined. Bobbin samples (%100 cotton) having different bobbin density and yarn count selected from a yarn producers of Adana, were dyed with reactive dye. Here, the yarn count, bobbin density, pump rotation circulation time, and value of gradient are the parameters. Yarn samples to be tested were taken from the internal, centre and external parts of dyed bobbins. These different parts were compared with respect to colour uniformity. Accordingly, the effect of the parameters on dyeing and optimum results for dyeing tests were evaluated. Some of the important results are as follows; The increase in yarn count and bobbin density causes to increase in colour uniformity. Circulation time, pump rotation and value of gradient for dyeing tests should be chosen depending on the bobbin density and yarn count.
