Abstract (EN)
Purpose:The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between ankle mobility and some field tests in taekwondo players. Material and Method:The study group of the research consists of 38 volunteer male and female taekwondo players aged 15 and over who are still competing. The tests of the athletes took 5 days in groups of 7-8 people due to the pandemic. The formation of the groups was determined by a randomized method. In order to determine the anthropometric characteristics of the athletes, height, body weight and body mass index measurements were made. Dorsi-flexion loss measurement as ankle dysfunction test, 20 m speed, vertical jump and taekwondo-specific agility tests were performed as field performance tests. Result:While there was a low positive correlation between 20 m sprint time and agility time and vertical jump height of the taekwondo players who participated in the study, similarly, a statistically significant low level correlation was found between vertical jump height and agility time. While there was a positive relationship between the right foot and left foot dorsi-flexion value and agility, 20 m sprint time of the taekwondo players participating in the study, a negative relationship was found between the right foot and left foot dorsi-flexion value and the vertical jump height. Condusion:In the study, it was concluded that ankle mobility has positive effects on agility, speed and vertical jump in taekwondo players, and high ankle mobility is a factor that will increase performance efficiency in taekwondo athletes.
