A research about the fitting of basic patterns prepared by the telestia method to the body structure of women's who lives in the city of Sinop and between the age of 18-35

To dress well and the desire of being liked, emphasize the importance of clothing on the other hand most important and supplementary fact is making pattern. To prepare patterns which fit the body, some rules should be determined. The most important condition to prepare a pattern is taking the right and appropriate measurements for the pattern system. To take the right measurement, body types, ratios and body figure and characteristics of the person whose size will be measured should be well inspected. It?s important that there should be a standard for measurement and this standard should reflect the characteristics of that society.The most important thing to keep in mind during the preparation and design of patterns is the human body structure. Appropriateness of a garment to the body depends on prepared patterns if they prepared for the right body properties. Body structure varies from person to person. If the pattern is prepared consider to the body properties, it?s an inevitable conclusion that the apparel perfectly fits the body.In women?s clothing; lack of basic pattern system, each organization's own pattern making according to their size system, between two different firms, leads to large differences between the same sizes. As a result of this; during the presentation of the products in store tailor services to the public comes to mind. If it?s considering that how this case causes the problems on labor, time and quality, the importance of basic pattern emergesThe main purpose of clothing industry is, to design and produce the garments that will appeal to a wide audience. This can only be possible with patterns which are prepared with the appropriate measurements of Turkish women body type and structure.The main purpose of this study is to determine and find solutions for the places that has adaptation problems based on the result of the examining the adaptation of basic patterns prepared with the Telestia method for body structure of women's who lives in the city of Sinop and between the age of 18-35.The population of this research encompasses; the women who lives in the city of Sinop and between the age of 18-35. The sample group contains 125 chosen random Turkish women.A table has prepared for collecting the research data and this table contains; the personal characteristics of the sample group (name, age and birth place) and the measurements of this 125 person which are taken appropriately by the method of Telestia.Observation forms were developed to determine the appropriations of the basic patterns which are prepared by Telestia method. Separate tables have created for each feature and general table were made from broad to specific. Basic body and arm patterns whit the exact measurements has prepared and sewed as a whole body by American fabric for each person in the sample group. Sewed cloths, dressed to the sample group. Appropriation status of the garments transferred to the observation forms. Statistical analysis of the data which had taken from the sample group is done with the SPSS 16.0 package program and the results are presented by the tables.In the first part of the research, problem status, purpose of the research, its importance, the problem statement, sub-problems, assumptions, limitations and definitions have been given. In the second part, the theoretical framework, the anatomical features, body rates, body types and body positions have been mentioned. Description and history of clothing, ergonomic and anthropometric point of definition of the pattern, the importance of pattern and pattern preparation techniques have been given.While giving information about Telestia method, rates of female body according to the method used, equipment, measurement techniques, drafting fitted body block and the basic arm has explained.In related research part of the thesis, previous research about the subject has given. In the third part of the research; material, the methodology is described and informations about the data collection and data analysis tools has given. The fourth part of the research findings and interpretations of research results presented in tables.Telestia Method according to data obtained from the study, prepared body blocks had fitted to aa large extend of the sample group which contains 125 Turkish women. By the discussion on the findings, recommendations were developed for the thesis.In research report this section is followed by References and Appendices sections.
