Abstract (EN)
Although the relationship between migration and literature has existed from past to present, it was in the modern period that it was handled in a separate field. Although the main subject in migration literature is migration, migrations differ according to whether they are forced or voluntary. In the current century, forced migration due to war, such as the Syrian war, has been one of the most important topics addressed. The devastating effects of the Syrian civil war deeply affected Syrian society and forced thousands of people to migrate to neighbouring countries due to displacement. Therefore, the phenomenon of forced migration has affected the structure of society. The effects of destructive events such as war, which cause social changes, are addressed through literary works. In this study, the novel Tellu'l-Verd written in Arabic by the Syrian literary writer Esma Mu'aykıl is analyzed. Tellu'l-Verd is a migration novel written in a realist style. This novel was analyzed from a sociological and psychological perspective; the impact of war on society and individuals and the social change caused by it were discussed. The pre-migration, migration and post-migration stages, which are discussed in detail in the novel, were followed. In the novel, the psychological and sociological effects of the events that make up the migration chain, which takes place in the form of a triangle from Syria to Turkey, from Turkey to Europe and then back to Syria, were observed on the characters. The Syrian civil war has caused many changes in society. Many human rights violations have occurred due to insecurity and civil unrest in the country. Human rights violations such as rape and torture are analyzed in the light of the novel. In the novel, phenomena such as identifying problems and alienation caused by cultural changes that emerged after migration was observed and analyzed. The study is analyzed under three main headings. Firstly, the study is discussed in terms of methodology and conceptual framework in terms of the relationship between migration and literature. In the second part, Esma Mu'aykıl's life, literary personality and works are included. In the last main section, the study is concluded by analyzing the novel Tellu'l-Verd structurally and thematically.
