Instructing basic desing with web based method and its influence on student academic succsess

This study examines Basic design interns of urgence, aims and methods. The aim of the study is to inquire the differences and similiraties in academic successs, knowledge, motivation and attitude between the traditional face to face method and web based method. In this research, the real experiment model is in use. The research model consists of pre-test, last test and lastingness test. Both qualitative and quantative research models are used.This experimental study is done to understand, if there is a meaningful difference between academic success, knowledge, motivation and attitude, when web based model and traditional face to face model are used. This research is done on first year 20 experiment group students in Professional Painting Education and 20 control group students in Ceramic Education Branch at Department of Applied Arts Educatipn, Faculty of Vocational Education at Gazi University. Basic Design-II is chosen for the research.The results of the research showed that, there is not a meaningful statical differnce on pupils' academic success and lastingness test. Yet, there is a meaningful difference on the last test, is web based group students showed significant rise against to others. According to the results of the research, web based learning method offers students easily reaching knowledge resources and various knowledge resources. Additionaly, the instructer has an important role in both web based learning model and traditional face to face model. It can be recommended that, web based learning model can apply to other lessons to assure students self study, when they are away from the class.
