The linguistic research method of Tammām Hassān in his work named "Manahij al-baḥt fi al-luġha"

The method issue has been the focus of every effort interested in knowledge and fundamentally determined the nature of scientific research. The modern linguistics influenced Arabic language studies shortly after it emerged in the West and opened the Arabic language heritage to discussion and thus began the search for methods in Arab world. Tammām Hassān and his work "Manahij al-baḥt fi al-luġa" can be accepted among the best examples of this kind in the field of linguistics. Tammām Hassān has directly and indirectly discussed the subject of method in his various works on the Arabic language. However, we have limited our work to his study we have mentioned, for two reasons. First, the time of this study would not be enough to examine all of Temmām Hassān's works. The second is the belief that it would be more beneficial to conduct an in-depth analysis in a narrower area. Even though, we have included some of the views of Temmām Hassān that came to the fore in the following periods in his studies. Because, in our opinion, the work we are dealing with is his basic starting point and the theories and concepts he put forward later are, in a way, the product of this work.
