Teaching classic literature making use of the art of "Tenasüp"

Our research has been formed for determining the situation of ?Tenasüp? skill which is commonly used in classic literature in classic poetry teaching and essentially for putting forward the importance of it.To understand the whole classic literature, one should examine it in structure and content.Poetry as an important product of this literature needs to be seen and concerned as ?one? with the understanding of the period?s art.Literary skills are the basic stones of classic poetry. As for ?Tenasüp? both in the process of the universe and in the installation of classic poetry is taken into consideration as important. With this aim, ?Tenasüp? in classic poetry became our subject in our study.To understand classic poetry better and comprehend the fields of the usage of ?Tenasüp? skill, couplets which were chosen from different centuries and which were separated from various examples of classical Ottoman Poetry were explained and their ?Tenasüp? installation were determined. With its example installation ?Tenasüp? was collected under the headlines according to its themes.Sometimes interpreting and choosing the words which were in harmony with each other in the couplets were difficult. Because, also harmonies except the accustomed words were determined. For this reason, couplets which were ?Tenasüp? were taken, descriptions of the unknown words and explanations were given using prose and later these were interpreted and installations of ?Tenasüp? were put forward.Key Words: Classic Poetry, Literary Skills, Tenasüp
