Abstract (EN)

In understanding environmental problems, it is very important to provide students with an efficient environmental education and to be more involved in the curriculum of environmental education. Invertebrates, which of form an important part of environmental education, cover about %90 of all animal species. Invertebrates, which make up a large group of living things, are very important for the ecosystem. However, most people do not have a sufficient awareness of their lives and importance. They also feel great fear and hatred towards them (especially insects and spiders). In this study, insects were introduced to the students with the insect workshop, which was conducted using Tenebrio molitor Linnaeus epoxy material, mainly about insect education and the teaching of the subject of metamorphosis. Semi-structured interview form and observation form were used within the scope of the research. As a result of the research, it was determined that the insect workshop was inadequate to overcome the fear that students had, but increased their interest, love and desire to protect their populations. Thus, it is understood that the activity has a positive effect on the instrict motivations of the students.
