Abstract (EN)

In this study, the basic concepts and ideas put forward by Teoman Duralı and Yalçın Koç through their social and cultural environments were examined comparatively; The concepts they brought to Turkish thought were analyzed. In the thesis, attention is drawn to the fact that although both thinkers were based on positive science during their academic education, they criticized Western Civilization and the thought foundations and systems on which it was based, through different concepts, from their maturity periods. In addition, the efforts of Western civilization to establish a metaphysically based thought system instead of the positivist science and materialist philosophy system have been tried to be analyzed with a comparative and interpretive approach. The documents and source information used in the thesis were obtained by examining the works and articles of both thinkers. Thus, during the study process, the relevant literature was examined and information and concepts were classified. In addition, based on Merton's and Mannheim's emphasis on the importance of conceptual analysis used in their studies on the sociology of knowledge, a comparison was made of the meanings that Duralı and Koç attributed to the same and similar concepts. As a result, the concepts and thought systems that both thinkers brought to Turkish thought were comparatively described and analyzed. It is thought that this study will contribute to comparative studies and research on the Turkish thought system.
