Abstract (EN)
In this study, the Tercuman-name of Sheikh Hirmendar Gamizi Ali Baba of Ahiska, who lived in the nineteenth century, is analyzed by using transliteration. The literary work includes the letters that Sheikh Gamizi Ali Baba wrote to his son Mehmed Kemal Efendi for the purpose of guidance. Although several library and catalog scanning are done, it was not possible to reach a manuscript written by the author. Therefore, the critical text has been prepared by taking into account the slight differences between the copies founded. The thesis consists of three main parts. In the introduction part, Tercuman-name as a genre and correspondence as an educational medium are discussed and the research results about the work are presented. In the first part, the information obtained about the life of Gamizi Ali Baba of Ahiska and his Tercuman-name are discussed. In the second part, the work has been examined in terms of its literary form and content. The work is examined in terms of language and style, and the Islamic mystical concepts and debates it contained are tried to be determined under sub-headings. In addition, social opinions of the author are also discussed. In the third chapter, information about the way and methods followed in the preparation of the text, the principles of the publication and the fully transcribed text of the work are included. In the conclusion part, the information we obtained during our study is evaluated.
