Translation Mezâminü-l-Emsâl (Review-Text)

Hâmid Efendi's book Tercüme-i Mezâminü?l-Emsâl is considered as the Turkish copy of El-Meydâni Mecma?u?l-Emsâl. He was considered as one of the famous authors in Arabic Literature and the book is considered as one of the best which is authorised in the 19-th century in the field of the proverbs. When he began the research about the proverbs he started to recount theır words wıth the linguistic meanings and referred to their grammatical properties as well as he explained them by giving examples. Some brief information about the proverbs, Hâmid Efendi as well as about the book was given, therefore it was translated into modern Turkish language. In the Analysis and Survey part of this thesis we referred to the origin of the proverb's composition and formation then translating it into Turkish. The proverbs were surveyed in detail taking into consideration as this thesis must be a source of the proverbs research.
