Abstract (EN)
The Ayyubids were a dynasty that ruled the Middle East, Egypt, Hejaz, Yemen, and North Africa between 1171 and 1341, holding a significant place in Islamic history. This family, whose origins are subject to dispute, participated in the Crusades under the administration of the Zengids. The Ayyubid state, created a profound impact in the Islamic world under the leadership of Salah ad-Din Yusuf ibn Ayyub. There have been various opinions regarding the origins of the Ayyubids, with claims of their Arab, Turkish, or Kurdish ancestry. Murtaza al-Zabidi, a renowned scholar, authored a significant work on the Ayyubid family. In this work, he provided brief information about the Ayyubid sultans and emirs, as well as their children. Salahaddin al-Munajjid edited and supplemented Zabidi's original work, correcting some errors, and this revised version was published in 1969. With this publication, the details about all members of the Ayyubid family have been brought to light. This study involves not only the translation of Zabidi's Arabic work, "Tervîhu'l-Kulûb Bi-Zikri Mulûki Beni Ayyûb" (The Refreshment of Hearts by Mentioning the Kings of the Ayyubids), into Turkish but also includes a critical evaluation in terms of historical research methodology and style. The translation and subsequent analysis have revealed the names, honorifics, death dates, and places of the Ayyubid family members, especially highlighting their significant contributions to the science of Hadith. We believe that this work fills a gap in the field. Keywords: Ayyubids, Tarvîḥ al-Qulūb, Zabidi, Ansab
